I updated some artwork I did for our church back in 2010… the top one we use each week during worship for our “Mission Moment.” Each week we highlight a country and mission organization serving that country and pray for them.
The other three are LOVE.LIVE.LABOR. They are the shorthand version of our church’s mission statement: Vintage Faith Church; a people who love God and others, live Jesus out loud, and labor for the kingdom in our community and around the world for the glory of God.
These are some pretty simple drawings that I am more excited about than much of what I have done. I feel like I have captured what I truly believe is the purpose of the Church: to be firmly planted in the midst of people and communities of this world and make a positive impact wherever she finds herself. I believe the Church’s power to do this comes from God, who loved us first (2 Corinthians 5:13-22).
Amazingly, although our church is very young, has less than 30 members, and no outside funding, we have been able to support mission work in Haiti as well as having sent out missionaries from our church to both India and Slovenia. It’s good stuff.
